So Wednesday the doorbell rang & I opened the door to greet a younger guy who I’d never seen before. He asked if I knew the people that used to live here. Which no, I don’t, but I knew it was a family with 2 grown girls but nothing further than that.

Anyway, he said, right here on your front step is where my girlfriend and I had our first kiss when she still lived here.  Turned out, he was still dating this girl and wanted to propose right here on my front step on Saturday! I gave him my card and asked if he could call with a timeframe so my kids weren’t running around naked or what have you (parents of 2-year-olds, you know what I mean).

Since we got hit with a few inches of sopping wet snow – and ice underneath – I figured he’d make other plans. But he called a while ago, and said he’d be here in 30 minutes! I grabbed my camera and went to hide at the neighbors’. My girls were totally aware of what was about to happen and got all giddy. My husband Scott? Well he was asleep on the couch. Yeah. It was 7:30pm.

Anyway, I got a 3 minute warning and called another neighbor so they could come watch, which was so cute, and texted a friend who wanted updates.. We went outside and were so giddy with anticipation.

Up pulls this car. They get out and she looks apprehensive. Like I would if Scott would have taken me to where my parents no longer live! HA! But they made it up the steps and Dana my neighbor and I were whispering, do it! Do it!! And down on his knee he went.

Her hands flew up to her face and we could tell she was crying. He put the ring on her… and they kissed! Yay! Dana and I broke out into a little cheering section.. & went up to congratulate them. Awesome.
